I work in marketing. I can tell you if it was that easy to bend the public will we'd all be rolling in clover. The idea that marketers collude to sway the public one way or the other is laughable since everyone involved is locked in a cut throat competition with every other person involved in the same activity.

I'll say it again, no one is in charge. There is no "them" that can be somehow separated from "us".
