I know MANY people who have negotiated Offers in Compromise (settled), but I don't personally know even ONE who has done time or gone to court criminally.

In case you didn't notice, there are no debtors prisons. You cannot go to prison for owing money to the IRS idiot. You go to prison for committing crimes, which owing money isn't.

OIC is a rarely used tactic. It can be used successfully only when the IRS has no hope of collecting the money or if there is doubt about whether you owe it. A person who is gainfully employed or owns property can rarely make an OIC happen.

Really, I don't have any desire to waste time with you on this. You obviously don't know enough to complete your own freaking short form. I've done many, many OICs -- far more than the average CPA, and this is a subject I know something about. I haven't done one in years but I can still complete a 656 blindfolded.

So, f*ck off.
