No, if I wanted to sound like a liberal, here's what I'd say:
- Raise taxes on the rich. The gap between rich and poor is growing, and that trend needs to be reversed. Societies do well when the "middle class" does well.
- Start universal health care. Like Michael Moore said, the lack thereof is what's causing the economic downturn. Don't touch SS and Medicare; those are the two "most successful" government programs ever, so why mess it up?
- Get out of Iraq and Afghanistan. "Wash our hands" of the Israeli mess, and let the Hamas "freedom fighters" do their thing. America and Israel are the only two war-loving powers on this planet. It's time to change that.
- Tax oil, coal, natural gas, and nuclear energy. Pour all of that money toward wind, solar, and other "renewable" energy.
- Do whatever it takes to stop "climate change." No use doing all of the above if we don't have a habitable planet in the forseeable future. Nancy Pelosi is right. This should be the biggest motivator for peace.
