I've just picked up this thread - I am a contributoer to the Plaintree discussion in silicon investor. I had to respond to the posting by Steve Scribe saying fibre channel was going to become the 1Gbps desktop technology of choice. Steve....no offence.....but what are you smoking ?? Forget price and technology (better or worse)....people will buy what they know. Gig ethernet is a sure fire success in the LAN and if you bet on something else you are wasting your money. NG
