Ted, there's a lot to discuss about rail, but one of the dumbest ideas I've seen is the "auto train." You're not saving much energy, if at all, and the infrastructure cost just doesn't make any sense.

Better to keep maintaining our existing highways than to divert some of that money toward "auto trains."
