The blog post wasn't about "we hate Americans cars and they suck".

It was about the perversity of acting/pretending as if the problems of GM have nothing to do with GM, but where just thrust apon it by some external force. (And apparently an "unearthly" one at that, but even without that word, the statement would still be perverse.)
