A whole lot of fraud has been going on.

Right.

Confidence, at an all time low, could go a lot higher if Madoff spills beans on his sources of clients.

I have been of the opinion that at a minimum there was willful ignorance of some very apparent facts. No one but no one gets the returns he did without fudging. The lack of proper audits says it all, IMO.

There was at a minimum the turning of a blind eye; at a maximum, active collusion.

If Madoff points at his sources of investors, it could be a systemic tipping point re: trust and confidence.

Well, I am already tipped over, and have been for a very long time. Perhaps my horizontal position colors my opinion. vbg
