Write Leaps on stocks with decent balance sheets. They can be growth or value stocks, but make certain they stay in business. Some names I like for covered Leap call writing right now are SII, LLY, PG, Wells Fargo and APPLE. Don't write calls on indices. Not enough premium for the risk involved. Don't write short term calls. Why give up the upside for little premium and little protection?
