Good things happening, reason returning, Volcker's back. Are we finally seeing the end of finance as the end all and be all of economic activity? Maybe so, I surely hope so. The Wall St. thugocracy will have to look for honest work:

Look for some form of cancellation of toxic derivatives.

Happy days are here again.........or are they?

Note how Obama shrewdly, very shrewdly, extremely shrewdly, has bypassed Treasury and the Fed. Volcker is his main man on macro issues, and that is wonderful. I am impressed. First reason to be optimistic in years. Let's hope Volcker's plans are implemented. There will be opposition for his medicine, though ultimately good, is painful.

Even gold likes the news.
