When all is said and done you just can't replace flight hours and training hours. Those come with time. Give me a 60 year old pilot over a 30 year old any day. Look at that guy who crashed the DC 10 in Iowa with no hydraulics. 6 months away from mandatory retirement. While some died he saved himself and most of his passengers with by the seat of the pants and by the gut flying. Last I heard in simulation nobody else has ever even made the airport.
