Lizzie, the problem with TARP and TLGP loans is the duration is too short. How can the banks put out a 30 year mortgage with capital they have to return the government in 3 to 5 years.

If the government relaxed the duration of the TLGP loans or TARP loans, maybe the banks could increase the amount of lending. I think the government is incredibly naive when it comes to some of the expectations out of the banks right now.
