Types of pancreatic cancer

cancerhelp.org.uk

Rarer endocrine pancreatic tumours
Endocrine cancers start in the endocrine pancreas, where insulin and other hormones are made and released directly into the bloodstream. The endocrine cancers are a group of hormone producing tumours. They are also called neuroendocrine tumours. They are named after the hormone they produce

* Gastrinomas produce a hormone called gastrin
* Insulinomas produce insulin
* Somatostatinomas produce a hormone called somatostatin
* VIPomas produce a hormone called VIP
* Glucagonomas produce a hormone called glucagon

These cancers cause strange symptoms. There is information about the symptoms of endocrine pancreatic cancers in this section of CancerHelp UK. You may hear these cancers called islet cell tumours. The islet cells are the hormone producing cells of the pancreas. Islet cell tumours are not always cancer - they can be benign.

Not to be argumentative, but the fact that I keep hearing that pancreatic cancer is ALWAYS deadly and that this is type that Jobs has, makes me think most investors believe this.

The fact that I've hear reports that:

1) Jobs has a rarer form
2) The article points out that rarer forms have strange symptoms and cause hormone problems as I believe has been reported to be one of Jobs problems leads me to believe they haven't figured it out yet but it's not the deadliest variety.

Personally I think that most investors interested in Apple are acting like Jobs is already gone. Otherwise the stock would have gone down far more than 4% yesterday. We shall see. Wednesday is quarterly day. If Apple had a good quarter it'll be a miracle. No one else had a good quarter.
