That's exactly why the Hospitalists are going to be the wave of the future....unfortunately. Your regular Doc chances are won't be your Doc if you go into the hospital, and for sure won't be if you have to go in through Emergency.... It's OK for pneumonia, but the neck situation I found myself in in Dec was another story altogether.

Went again to the Neurosurgeon (that I hadn't had to see before this mess flaired up BIG time) said today with two other Docs concurring, that I would have to have surgery on c5-c6...Several things wrong, but the herniated disks are lying on the spinal cord, compressing it, and just to compound the problem, the canal with the nerves is too small, so the nerves are really getting squished....He of course had a better way of stating it....
