Yes, the government is inherently socialist, but there is just no other way around it in a modern democratic society, the point I was making. Besides, it is also true that socialism is not equal to totalitarian regime, nor is it a political system. It's a highly inefficient economic system. For example, socialist Soviet Union was dictatorship-free during the first 7 years of its existence, with a constitution that actually respected the human rights. So, for 7 years Soviet Union was a socialist democracy, then the utopia broke down. -g- I'd call it a necessary evil in a modern society. It is necessary, but the more socialism you have, the less the long term economic growth will be. Central banks are inherently central planning/socialist organizations, designed (in principle) to smooth out business cycles. But ... it seems they did more evil than good, at least in the USA. -g- |
