if the issue is the "depression", why are you arguing that Amazon is a RETAILER? Is your problem the amazon business model, or the economy? If its the economy, then short anything, many stocks will fall more in a "depression" than AMZN, because amazon is still pretty tightly controlled by Bill Miller and a few select funds. If your problem is amazon's business model, then you are missing hte fact that their growth is no longer retail.
