the financing isn't there. Same thing is true of significant projects across the spectrum of the economy.

The financing is there for ANYTHING that investors are convinced to be sound investments.

Which brings me back to my primary point. If the wind advocates are stating that the EROI of wind power is more favorable than conventional generation sources, we either don't need more power, or wind isnt' as profitable as it's being peddled.

Face it, in a recession, price deflation brings down the cost of construction and installation. Thus, the cost of wind should be going down making such an investment even MORE attractive (not to mention the subsidies and tax credits).

Clearly the economics of wind power are not convincing enough to get investors to open up their wallets. They prefer to keep their money in money market funds drawing 1% or less.
