but your definition of love of country flies in the face of the founding fathers. I'm not sure which founding fathers you're referring to; to paint them all with such a broad brush is silly -- they wouldn't have all agreed with each other on this subject. As an example, it is possible Jefferson would NOT have seen it the same way I do, but Adams most certainly would have. The responsibility taken on by the Founders was immense -- they knew that their lives were on the line for the country, and they didn't have the benefit of a constitution to know what the country would even look like. They took their country AS IT WAS and put it before all others -- and they put their lives on the line to back it up (knowing they would all be hanged and disemboweled if the revolution failed, and few had any vision to the revolution succeeding). You sound much like other folks in our history who tried to replace our democratic system with mindless slogans like love it or leave it. I never had a problem with that slogan, personally. I'm tired of people who are supposed to be Americans dragging the country down. And most of the Left has participated in it. Contrast the treatment of Obama now with the treatment of Bush in 2001. The Left attacked Bush on day one. The Right, today, is treating Obama with absolute respect and we, without question, support him and hope for his success. The Left wanted NOTHING but a Bush failure in 2001. And I'm not talking about bloggers. I'm talking about members of Congress and others who should be better Americans. Look as these absolute POS Nancy Pelosi and Reid. Two of the sorriest, most partisan individuals ever to hold these offices. But due to your political leaning, you have no problem with them. This country would be better off without these people; they contribute nothing, and only take away. I believe Obama is reaching out to all Americans and that is a good thing. He's going to have his hands full trying to keep the DailyKOS and Huffington Post crews on his side unless he is willing to become a hater they way they have. These people drag the country down. While Freedom of Speech is a great thing, there is nothing about it that says we have to appreciate the speaker.
