I only posted the story about Obama supporting Little Timmy because the topic was being followed here.
To me that is proof that it is business as usual.
I didn't even comment on that portion of your discussion.....at least not with you. Where I disagreed with your post is that comment re. getting a grass roots candidate.
My point continues to be that Obama is as grass roots as they come.
That is different from what you are saying, which is an opinion.
If you are talking about Obama as a grass roots candidate......its not my opinion but a fairly common observation. Obama's relied heavily on small contributions coming from many people contributing on the net.
As for the rest of the discussion, maybe you missed the part where I stated that I wish the best for Obama. I like him. I think he was by far the better choice. But still, I do not think much will be different.
Again, I didn't see you as anti-Obama. However, I do disagree with you, and this IS my opinion, things will be different under Obama.
1. No man can stop the ocean.
Obama knows that.....its why he's told Americans he can't do it alone.
2. The system runs things, and that system is very motivated by self-interest and NOT the interest of the people.
I believe the American people are more awake than they have been in a long time. If they see the system start to buck Obama, they may very well voice their strong objections. For an example, I firmly believe Republican congressmen need to be very careful going forward.
3. Money talks, and money buys the White House. Money ain't going away.
Again, you need to look at Obama sources for campaign funding. I am not saying the powerful won't have entrée but I question whether they will have the influence they had in the current administration.
4. Some people believe there are two parties. Some people believe that life on TV is <real>. Some people believe in Santa Claus.
Some people are fairly cynical and believe their economic charts and numbers are all that determine the future. I don't agree.
The average American is ignorant. This is by design. They are programed to consume, and they do it well, until the credit river runs dry. Your statement about the American voter having something to do with the two choices is, and please forgive me, naive. There is a pre-selection and all choices are acceptable to the system. Someone like Ron Paul never had a chance, for from day one the media was busy programing the public that Paul was a nutjob. There was nothing close to grass roots in this election. What you label as grass roots support for Obama was belief in a man with personal charisma. I believe he is a good man. I think McCain is a good man too. Neither would have been able to stop the tsunami that is coming, for that wave is deep and in motion for 40 years.
We'll see.
I do not wish to engage in politic discussion. Please do not think me rude if I do not respond to political topics, but I have to clip my toenails now and other important stuff.
Well, that last statement says a lot about who you are. Clearly, there won't be any need to discuss the issue further. |
