He's head of the NY Federal Reserve right now....

(And probably more up-to-speed on what the Federal Reserve and the U.S. Treasury Department has been doing to react to this financial panic and global economic slump then any other person alive... with the possible exception of Secretary Paulson.)

I believe his selection indicates that Obama wants to hit the ground running to combat this economic collapse... (& not anything partisan).

He's merely selecting one of the smartest and most qualified guys available.
