The 2q charge taken for the rebates was mandatory under standard accounting rules, and should have represented the product already in the channel. Whether prudent or not, it would have been a breach of fiduciary duty to have not taken the charge. Mr Edwards stated in the conference call that the company was making a profit on the drives. I sincerely doubt that IO will report a loss on record rev's, it's just not their style. The plan has been intact since the beginning of the year, and is being executed on schedule. Let's also not forget those cute little high margin disks that people take home with the drive. Anyone counting on a poor quarter from IO will be caught with their pants down, IMHO
