Hamas was beaten because as time passes the average gazan will see the folly of lobbing rockets at israel. They will give Hamas a pass here but not a second time. The israelis achieved this same thing in lebanon but at great cost to themselves because they stupidly thought they could eliminate hizbo from the political equation in lebanon. This time they didnt try that--the message was to gazans--reign in hamas or you will suffer again and again. Gazans got the message and will force hamas to run a political entity, not stupidly take on the israelis without allies, save the verbose iranians and the smug hamas prick who hangs out in the safety of damascus. A great lesson was learned at a great cost. Israel, Egypt, France, the US and the PA might just be able to bring peace now that the pals have a clear vision on what the lack of peace meanst to them. So perhaps those gazans who died did not die in vain after all, if one values peace that is.
