Ah, I misunderstood your point. I agree that talk of emerging markets (like BRIC) decoupling from the USA was nonsense. Look at how much hurt the USA gets in when we have 2% decline in GDP, what would one expect export based economies to do when they have a 20% contraction in exports? Humpty Dumpty time for them.

I agree the decoupling argument was nonsense. However, I am surprised they are not hurting nearly as badly as I would expected by this point. For an example, last month was the first month Brazil experienced a major job loss since 1999. And China's GDP is still expected to grow this year albeit more slowly.
