I don't know of anyone who believes that Reagan would have tolerated that crap on his watch. If you do, you don't know much about Reagan.

Reagan made a huge mistake in Beirut that contributed to the escalation of terrorism against us. There is no doubt about that. But he absolutely would not have tolerated the Iranians doing what they did. No way in hell. But it wasn't on his watch and I doubt he felt it was crucial on his first day in office to start bombing Iran, particularly given the hostages were back.
