I am confident that you are confident and me being the eternal optimist, i wish i could be too. I dont want to minimize obama by comparing it to a 50/50 win by JFK but i was a kid then and it feels much the same. JFK blew the bay of pigs (trying to appear too tough), blew the Krushchev relationship because of bay of pigs, didnt get much legislation passed, and ended up with the Cuban Missile crisis which never would have happened save all the missteps. Obama aint macho so i dont worry about bay of pigs but he does go up against skilled adversaries of all varieties. And domestically in 1960 we were in modest recession and sluggishness due to supply side constraints but nothing like today. He has to be perfect and he needs the support of folks as diverse as you and me. Its a tough job.
