I can say it.

I was a plumber from 20 to 24 years of age. Union and non-union. Non-union worked circles around the union. Union made more money and did some very good work. Non-union jobs had more accidents. Union took forever to get a job done. Non-union had faster advancement for hard workers. Union had benefits. Non-union had no job security. Union never drank or smoked pot at work. Non-union, every one of them were alcoholic and did drugs at work. Union had better tools. Non-union stole each others tools.

They both were closed minded opinionated assholes. Guess I fit in just fine.

Thankfully we have them. Plumbers keep it clean.

The joke is.... Plumbers know two things.

Payday is on friday and shit runs downhill.

btw: i escaped to higher and lower paying jobs. even had a few career changes. the skills that a plumber has can be acquired with 3-4 months of hard work. union apprenticeship teaches as much about politics of unions as trades. but the skills are good to know. germs in feces are deadly. no crap......

you guys should give plumbers a break. they have had to put up with your shit for a long time.
