The tactics you and your liberal buddies use essentially exclude conservatives from the debate.
I don't think its by intent. It sometimes gets very frustrating when you go over the same thing over and over again and come to no resolution or worse, keep getting misunderstood. For an example, inode thinks its great that the surge worked, and for him, that makes everything okay with regards to Iraq, and he believes it should make everything all right for the rest of us. But for someone like me who opposed the war from the get go, and is sick that we've blown a trillion dollars on that misguided adventure, it means squat. In fact, it means less than squat. For me, the war was a mistake was a mistake was a mistake no matter how many successful surges there are. And yet, we go over this point ad nauseum to the point where I no longer want to discuss it.
In addition, and I've said this before, I think we expect more of you. I don't think its meant to silence you...at least I don't intend it that way......but rather to get you to think. Apparently, the tactic isn't working.
BTW I want to go back to something that we were talking about yesterday. I have been critical of minorities belonging to the GOP, suggesting that a person of color is not well served by the party. I stand by that position. I really do believe the party has a ways to go in endorsing the diversity that exists in this country. However, I can understand fully if minorities espouse conservativism. While I don't agree with all the tenets of conservatism, I do think its a valid philosophy that anyone can and may endorse. And I see a strong separation between conservatism and the GOP these days. |
