90....Clipper Windpower has announced dozens of layoffs at its Cedar Rapids plant.

A spokeswoman for the maker of wind turbines, Mary Gates, said about the company laid off about 90 of the company's 830 workers worldwide.

The Iowa plant employs close to 390 workers.

Management called employees into a meeting on Tuesday to announce the layoffs.

The Carpinteria, Calif.-based company began major production in 2005.
