That was a big reason I gave up private flying a long time ago. The airlines and the private aircraft have equal rights to the air, but the rules must be followed. Too often the private pilot, who might fly a couple times a month, isn't current on the regs and, worse, isn't a proficient pilot. I saw some incredibly dumb things that were near misses, even on the ground. I decided it's best to pay for the pros to drive.
