just deal with my hypothetical. I think an al queda bio or chem hit is inevitable somewhere in the world. What would you be willing to do to stop it.

Very little. I look at it at the same way as I look at the possibility of a plane engine falling on my house or a ferry sinking or a plane crashing. I am not going to put steel mesh over my roof to protect it nor am I going to stop riding ferries and traveling by plane. There are some things where the low probabilities of occurrence due not warrant the mitigation costs involved.

Sure its a philosophical question designed to get you to admit that even you, would beat the code out of a guy who was going to poison a city. Sure you would.

No, I wouldn't. I think we should work to reduce terrorism in the world but I really think invading an Iraq or an Afghanistan is the wrong way to do it.

And for the cons, what about the innocents that get tortured because of the slimy way in which the last admin adopted torture. Collateral damage exists only when you are trying to be careful in the first place. You made that point about israel when we argued. You were right there. If the israelis were indeed deliberately killing civilians its a war crime. There are lines drawn in either scenario.

Current Israel is ruled by the same kind of cabal that ruled the US until yesterday. They do not make good rulers of a democracy. And speaking of which, its very likely Netanyahu is going to win in February. I just hope Obama will be effective in dealing with him.
