[Conference Call]
Pat: I heard your good question on the CC. It was nice to hear your voice after all the input you have given to SI. I thought GS's answer was politically correct; what else could he say? If GTE makes a significant ADSL announcement in November, then we are off to the races in style. If not, l look for a general decline in the stock for at least 3 more months.
I was struck by the lack of information he provided in response to the question on the mysterious "3" signed but not announced contracts. He seemed especially defensive. I came away from the call with a very uneasy feeling. If I were a prospective new investor in WSTL, I would expect more from a CEO than he provided. His knowledge of his product line seems especially thin. I'm afraid the market will not respond favorably to this poor performance. I am staying with my investment for only one reason. I think there are signed contracts with expected delivery schedules in place. This is the only rationale that I can come up with to account for the recent job openings at WSTL. If GS is hiring without contracts in hand, then the WSTL board of directors is not taking care of business. I'm looking forward to your comments on the conference call.
