"A very small portion of Americans have a freaking clue what this is all about -- well below 10% of the voting population has any understanding of the issue."
That is true and exploited by the right wing nuts to an extreme. The people with no clue of the outside world (or with their noecon agenda) stamping their world view on these 90% of clueless Americans.
'While he was a lousy communicator, there is no evidence to suggest he is less or more intelligent that Barack Obama or Bill Clinton. What we DO know is that Bush has a deeper understanding of foreign policy than any president since Reagan. There is zero doubt about that fact."
Lousy communicator but an effective leader? The guy whose success relies on analyzing the situation, formulating a strategy to solve the problem, COMMUNICATING the problem and plan of action, win coalition and support within and outside his party and country to execute that plan as a Lousy communicator? Astounding.
Like all american, I have to make decision about his intelligence on what I see on TV. And his intelligance is way below par as a president. And I dont mean jumbled words and tripping answering to a reporter. It his complete lack of understanding of human psychology and its impact on US. It takes him years to acknowledge that "bring them on" and "dead or alive" or "shock and awe" have adverse impact. This were not spur of the moment comments. This is how he is and he is proud to speak his mind. And you idiots are glad he speak his mind, even when its garbage coming out impacting our success.
Most people understand that sh*t happens in war and innocent people die and we have to do what needs to be done. But, dont go around being arrogant about it. Innocent people are dying, so show some humility. This is exactly what the terrorists exploit, resulting in additional casaulty.
"That Obama is willing to negotiate directly, without preconditions, with terrorist and leaders of rogue states pretty much tells the story. Anyone who would do that is not qualified to be in the Oval Office."
So, Bush decided to threaten his 'enemies'. Whats the results: Success in Libya. Failure (In fact, Acceleration of enrichment) in N.Korea and Iran. With Korea, Bush eventually ended up on negotiating table anyways. With Iran, threats didn't work. In fact Bush policy has brought the Mullahs closer to Irans scientific community. Is this your idea of success? |
