* the politics of fear and division

You mean like this:

Sen. Barack Obama's pastor says blacks should not sing "God Bless America" but "God damn America."

Farrakhan on Obama: 'The Messiah is absolutely speaking'
'Barack has captured the youth,' will bring about 'universal change'

* the policies of entitlement without the hard work or responsibility

And maybe this site is a bit extreme to the right, but they aren't too far off with regard to ACORN's program of political intimidation of banks to extend sub-prime loans to people who couldn't afford them (entitlement). And now the ACORN folks are begging for a bailout.

Obama's putting on a good show, and maybe, just maybe, he's suddenly come to the understanding that what got him elected isn't going to serve him, or this nation, well, let alone get him re-elected.. I hope so..

The nation, not to mention the international investment community, is not going to stand for more sub-prime lending just because of this sense of entitlement that everyone should be able to own their own home.

If people are entitled to anything, it's an economy where they obtain the best value for their dollar spent, as well as the opportunity to better themselves (and their income) via job retraining, and re-education. And I also believe people are entitled to preventative and emergency care (minus a proper co-pay), if only because a ounce of prevention prevents a pound of cure. That just makes economic sense.
