Many wine shops double their cost in the sale price of wine. The lowest margin I can recall seeing on most wines was 35% An increase of 25 cents for Two Buck Chuck would lead to at least a 35 cent increase. I would expect the price to go to $2.49 at a minimum. Charles Shaw and Trader Joe's have probably both been reducing margins to keep the price to $1.99. Californians will probably begin loving Three Buck Chuck instead.

Do haughty leftist elitists drink Two Buck Chuck?
