Greetings Thread.

Paul Kern invited me over from another area of SI. I'm a pretty basic player, by ear or tab. Not going to be winning any Grammys for my playing but I do amuse myself by playing tunes I hear in my head or played by a variety of rock-ish/blues bands if it isn't to hard to play or too fast.

I've been thinking about a new guitar - I've got a basic Yamaha acoustic and a Strat clone from China that stays in tune surprisingly well for how cheap it was.

I think my next guitar might be one of the Artcore series by Ibanez or maybe a shallow body acoustic/electric. I've also always like the look and sound of the Les Paul series. I have perhaps an unjustified prejudice against the Epiphone models, though. They are a lot less money, but I suspect that one gets what they pay for.

I'm open to suggestions and am interested in "do not purchase" advise as much as "this one rocks" advise.
