My brother's and my story is really one of blessing, in our opinion. At the time, they didn't know how to deal with staph infections, or what caused them. My dad had a large family with 3 sisters available to help, in addition to his own mother. We grew up in a loving home, well cared for and had wonderful "step grandparents" (if that's a word).

Now, I'm looking after mom in assisted living. She's on a slow slippery slope, but is still sharp. I see her a couple times a week and we talk a couple times a day. My brother comes up from Florida every year to spend a couple weeks with her. She's a neat mom.
