Hi Sam, I will try to answer your questions without going into too much detail, if only because I am in a hurry..

Opinion is mostly technical , yes (arguably intuitive). I see the possibility for a bit more upside short term. I would then expect the group to consolidate for a period of days, maybe a couple weeks.

Fundamentally I see nothing wrong.

For SLM I am mostly just watching the share price. SLM suffered dearly today (earnings). That is a non-confirmation for the overall health of the EDU sector in my opinion. It is not reason enough for me to abandon the idea altogether. Just something to remain conscious of.

So then, as you might have guessed, I am more inclined to trade this group from the long side. I do however have a long term SLM short bias. Things would need to become considerably more frothy (in the school sector) before I'd lean towards shorting.

As a general rule I don't do any pair trades.

I like the volatility and mostly view hedging as a way of saying "I'm not sure about this trade" , in which case I should probably not act at all.
