Thought you might be interested , Midwest_Investor along with Octavian and other Bob Brinker supporters here who might also be interested to know that in Bob Brinker's January 6th newsletter , Bob Brinker in fact does give a 1 - Year , 5 - Year , 10 - Year , 15 - Year , and 20 - Year performance returns for all three of his Model portfolio I , Model portfolio II , Model portfolio III , Bob's Active / Passive portfolio , along with the VTSMX and the VFINX through 2008 . I know on some other Bob Brinker web sites it was reported that Bob Brinker didn't do so for this last calendar year of 2008 and I'd like to set the record straight . It is on the very bottom of page 7 of this January 6th newsletter .
Without publishing the full details of Bob Brinker's newsletter , which is a violation of Bob Brinker's copyright , I think it's probably fairly safe to say that along with most of the indices in 2008 , some of Bob Brinker's Model portfolios didn't do well in 2008 . However his Model portfolio III that is invested in fixed income too , Bob Brinker did approximately as well as I did in my own Invested portfolio that started the begining of 2008 with approximately a 65% stock asset allocation . And that Model portfolio III also has a positive performance return for 5 - Years while the VTSMX and the VFINX continue to show negative returns through the 10 - Year performance period .
The reason I could not post this information earlier , Midwest_Investor , was because my January newsletter was put in the wrong post office box at my local post office and that box owner very nicely wrote on it , " put in wrong box " on the envelope and the post office staff put it in my box just this morning .
