We are never going to do a major power land war again the way we used to do it. But the DOD refuses to face that fact. I have the exact opposite viewpoint. DOD is definitely leading us away from a major land war capability. In fact I consider that a done deal. But the bigger difference between our views is this - I call that a mistake. How can we be expeditionary when we can't keep a 175,000 man army in the field? Assess the major land war threats. Look around history and the current geo-political world. Other countries and their leaders drool at the thought of defeating America. Never think they are not strong enough. Public and Secret alliances are common. Nothing will get us into a major and decisive land war faster than not being able to defend and prevail against attacks. uw
