"Now if you take disagreeing with you on this as being rude, then all I can say is I'm very sorry - but I still disagree."

Straw man. I take telling me I am wrong on salmonella, against testing, and being told that I am acting like you hit a nerve all as rude. Please don't make up something else. You've got to see how all that might be additive.

You can disagree until the cows come home- just don't tell me I said something I didn't, or tell me I'm wrong when I'm not, and THEN treat me like there's something wrong with my response. No need to pretend it's about you disagreeing with me.

And yes, busy mothers can be careful. I'm busy and I'm careful. Will all busy mothers be careful? No. But that's not because they can't be- it's because they don't want to spend a few extra minutes. I get up at 5 to make my kids safe healthy lunches- and I work full time, have 3 kids, and volunteer excessively.

And yes, I agree we can go overboard on cleanliness. I can't say that I do, but I'm sure there are people out there who do. People with maids, maybe. I run loads and loads of dishes and laundry every morning and evening- but I can't say the house is spotless. But our food is pretty safe, and my kids are rarely ill. I don't think my son missed a single day of school last year.
