You are now saying young children don't have a right to life?
A young child doesn't have the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. A young child has the right to do what his/her parents tell them to do.
Restrictions on childrens liberty and pursuit of happiness are a result of recognition they need care and guidance.
----------------------------------------------- A fetus has even less rights than a child.
By law, that is currently the case just as slaves had fewer rights than others. Whether this is moral isn't proven by citing law. ------------------------------------------- A little more Jefferson for you:
To talk of immaterial existences is to talk of nothings. To say that the human soul, angels, god, are immaterial, is to say they are nothings, or that there is no god, no angels, no soul. I cannot reason otherwise: but I believe I am supported in my creed of materialism by Locke, Tracy, and Stewart. At what age of the Christian church this heresy of immaterialism, this masked atheism, crept in, I do not know. But heresy it certainly is.
-Thomas Jefferson, letter to John Adams, Aug. 15, 1820
I'm not sure what relevance that has to anything. Both men were known to be unitarians, not atheists. Whatever their beliefs about the materiality or immateriality of the human soul, etc. has nothing to do with abortion. |
