Can you give me an example of the ones you like? I think the Gibson Les Paul Studio Standard might make the grade, but someone may differ. I could probably justify around $1000 max so the faded maple is in budget, but prefer musical sound and durability to cachet. It would definitely not be a museum piece and I would kind of hate to have something so nice that I'd die if I scratched, nicked or dented it. Only having budget for one, I'd say in ascending price and decreasing probability of ownership Ovation shallow body Applause or Celebrity Ibanez Artcore AS Gibson Les Paul Studio Standard
