I just learned that the push to include teaching the theory of intelligent design in a school curriculum originated from within the scientific community, not the religious community. That seems odd. ID doesn't qualify as a theory in the scientific sense of the word. It has no basis in science. It may be a theory in common parlance (meaning "speculation") but it is not "theory" in the same way evolution is "theory." Any reputable scientist would know that.
