Your Dad was a wise man! Never thought about this exactly before, but it is certainly correct. The other way today (and for the last 25 years+) is the service industry. We can create wealth by using our imaginations and brain power...Bill Gates sure did it, and so did Steve Jobs and others like them in the 80's.

As an aside, for some reason my brain drifted off to this...Remember when we were kids and played with magnets? I used to love to collect all the iron filings that the magnet collected. And, wondered if they would be useful for anything we could use when "I grew up..."

Did they ever make anything useful of those little fuzzy black things that stuck on our magnets? <gg>
