Christians would be crazy to push for a philosophy of religions class in high school. Nothing undermines religious belief faster than comparative religion. Once you start seeing the commonality in all religions, and in philosophy, it undermines the credibility of any one religious franchise having "the Truth". I guess for some people it doesn't undermine religion altogether if you can go for some Baha'i-ist gestalt, but most people are kind of attached to their own little slice of the religion pie.
