Ted, my wife and I attended the 11:15 service at Pastor Rick Warren's church today. The place was PACKED, more so than usual, and this is no small church. In fact, the entire church property is as big as a college campus. We ended up having to sit outside because the main building was full.

Lots of great things Paster Warren said, which I won't bother to repeat here unless you really want me to. But one thing that struck me was the feeling that Rick Warren may become the next Billy Graham. In fact, Reverend Graham recently sent Pastor Warren a package, which contained a hat that Rev. Graham wore during his first inaugural invocation.

That to me is simply amazing. Rev. Graham had the privilege of ministering to twelve presidents, starting with Truman. Now Pastor Warren has the privilege of ministering to the next twelve presidents of the United States, starting with the first black one.

P.S. - I'm sure Pastor Warren is getting flak from the right-wing over Obama lifting the ban on abortion funding for foreign nations. But for him to pass on the privilege that Obama gave him would literally be a sin. That's something right-wing Christians ought to consider before lambasting him like the left-wing is doing over the whole Prop. 8 thing.
