All indications are that this might finally be the year for biotech. I'm looking forward to the day when 3-4 of the major pharmas are making insane bids for my bio rats. The real interesting part is that these new drugs that modify genetic structure may be the only thing that can severely cut the cost of healthcare. I'm sure pharma and health care managers realize the cost savings between long term care and management of treating a disease versus altering the genetic structure to prevent the replication of the disease and in effect cure the patient. The concept of gene splicing is so beautiful and now so close. Once blood/brain/cell penetration and delivery is perfected, the sky is the limit for the number of diseases that can be cured at the genetic level.
