This will be a popular post to attack but this is my view - and yes - I'm a republican.

<<I agree with that (above the fray part) Gloop, but am mindful that GWB really did that, to his peril>>

That wasn't the problem in my opinion. The problem that plagued Bush was that the American people lost faith in him. You can blame it on the press, congress or any of a number of culprits but in the final analysis it destroyed his ability to lead.

<<We HAVE to get back to being able to discuss issues, and so far in the last 4 days of a new Administration, I see little that encourages me to believe that divisive isn't the name of the game so far.>>

We're going to need to give the guy more than a week. I haven't had a lot of time but I heard Obama's plan is to "create or Save" 3-4 million new jobs. My son and I were watching and I remarked "how duplicitous of him." I'm not sure how you measure saving jobs? Does that mean if unemployment is higher in 4 years that it would have been even higher because Obama is automatically credited with saving 3-4 million jobs? If I were a member of the press my first question would be if he could provide a quantitative measurement of job savings.

I love you guys, know plenty will disagree but I don't have the time or desire to debate the issue.
