All - This may be of some interest... Lucent's product... news.com While Inter-Tel's VocalNet is superior in quality (for the time being), Lucent has the advantage of scaleability. I'm just trying to figure it all out, but it seems to me that increasing bandwidth will make it so that many companies can compete with quality products in this area. Inter-tel uses DSPs in a proprietary switch, resulting in the most quality voice over the Internet for ??? how long. I'm thinking that the Lucent architecture may win-out in the end. I believe that INTL is also trading up on various buy-out rumors. But, I can't see SteveM (CEO) ever selling out. :-) Any other opinions on this subject? Good luck to all! I too sold some in the mid-twenties - bummer! Luckily I still have a few in my IRA.
