Ted, > Any number of people in the know, including Clinton and Berger, have disputed the above claim.
Well that settles it, doesn't it? ;-)
Gotta wonder what Sandy Berger took from the National Archives back in 2004.
No, we know what he took. Why are you making something bigger than it is? Berger sounds like an absent minded professor. My uncle was like that......really bright...spoke three languages...had three different professions. This is some of the stuff he did:
1) He went to pick up a few groceries. Got back into his car. Forgot to shut the door......took off the driver's door on a pole as he backed out. He came back from the supermarket with the door on his backseat.
2) One time I went on a business trip with him. He had this big ole Lincoln. We're doing 80 on the freeway and its a blizzard outside. I kept telling him to slow down but who listens to a 13 year old. He reminded me that his car was big, that he had snow tires on, that his car was bla, bla, bla, and that he had been driving longer than I had been on the planet. When we got to our exit, he took it doing 80. We slid down the down-ramp, went through the red light and slid up the on-ramp....ending back on the freeway. Brilliant, no?
3) My uncle didn't do his income taxes for three years. Why? He didn't have the time. Ended up paying the IRS a big penalty. Was he a criminal? No. Was he stupid? No.
From everything I've heard about Berger, he's not too dissimilar from my uncle. They tend to embarrass themselves but they aren't dishonest. |
