Inode, > Their failure to innovate, which has gone on for many, many years, has finally caught up with them. When's the last time they came up with anything new?

Better yet, how would breaking up M$ back in the David Boies era have fixed things?

Seems like the free market is working just fine. People are voting with their feet away from Vista. Microsoft has no competition and thus feels no incentive to innovate. Apple and Google rise on the scene, and Microsoft looks like a fat turtle in comparison.

Eventually AMD may go away and Intel may become the stagnant one. It depends on how paranoid Intel continues to be after AMD is gone. Plenty of players in silicon ready to pounce on Intel, including Samsung and TSMC.

By the way, did you know that Intel has hired Dianne Feinstein's former chief of staff to be their legal representative in Washington?
